Municipal Law Enforcement Department Coverage

 

By-law enforcement operates weekdays beginning at 7:00 a.m., with end times varying based on shift schedules. Effective May 16, by-law services will expand to seven-day operation, providing coverage Monday through Sunday, including weekends.

Timed Parking Regulations

 

Timed parking regulations apply Monday through Saturday. No timed parking restrictions are in effect on Sundays within designated timed parking areas.

Current Timed Parking Limits by Street:

  • Robert Street West – 2-hour limit
  • Main Street (entire length) – 2-hour limit
  • Simcoe Street – 2-hour limit
  • Water Street (northwest corner) – 2-hour limit
  • Water Street – 2-hour limit
  • Peel Street – 4-hour limit
  • Jeffery Street – 4-hour limit
  • Anne Street – 4-hour limit
  • Lucy Street – 4-hour limit

Residents with questions or seeking additional clarification are encouraged to review Schedule R of the Traffic and Parking By-Law (By-Law 2012-23). This schedule provides detailed information on time-limited parking, including applicable limits, designated locations, and enforcement provisions.

 

The Municipal Law Enforcement Department enforces the by-laws approved by the Town of Penetanguishene Council, such as Noise, Dog Licensing, Parking, Fire permits, Clean yards, Dog tags, etc.

Complaints are required in writing to alleviate frivolous complaints where one neighbor is feuding with another. We require a signature to protect the Town from being accused of discriminating against a citizen. Personal information including the complainant’s name is kept confidential, however, if the matter goes to court, the complainant could be called to testify and give evidence to substantiate the Town’s position.
