The Town of Penetanguishene is pleased to announce that during the March 11, 2026 Council Meeting, Council approved a series of updated 5‑Year Maintenance Plans that will guide critical infrastructure work and long‑term planning across the municipality.
The newly approved plans include:
- 5‑Year Preventative Road Maintenance Plan
Outlining scheduled resurfacing, crack sealing, drainage improvements, and lifecycle road management to extend pavement life and enhance safety. - 5‑Year Sanitary Sewer Maintenance Plan
Detailing inspection schedules, cleaning programs, rehabilitation priorities, and asset renewal strategies to ensure reliable wastewater services. - 5‑Year Sidewalk Maintenance & Reconstruction Plan
Identifying repair needs, accessibility improvements, and reconstruction priorities to support safe and accessible pedestrian networks. - 5‑Year Stormwater Maintenance Plan
Establishing maintenance requirements for culverts, ditches, storm sewers, and ponds to reduce flooding risks and protect infrastructure.
These plans will guide municipal operations between 2026 and 2031 and reflect the Town’s continued commitment to proactive asset management and responsible long-term planning.
