Property Taxes

New in 2024

The Town of Penetanguishene has announced a significant change in its payment methods.  Effective immediately, all payments will solely be made electronically.  This proactive change is part of the Town’s ongoing commitment to security enhancements and efficiency in its financial transactions. The new process will require all Town Vendors to complete Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) forms.

If you own property in the Town of Penetanguishene, you need to pay property taxes. Review the property tax payment options, explore our tax programs and rebates and find out the assessment value for your property.

Billing

We issue tax bills twice a year and the property tax due dates will change each year.

Interim Tax bills are mailed the first week of January. The installment due dates are:

  • The last business day of February
  • The last business day of April

Final Tax bills are mailed the first week of July.  The installment due dates are:

  • The last business day of July
  • September 27th

Payments are due on or before the above due dates.  A penalty and an interest charge of 1.25% will be applied on any unpaid or outstanding taxes.  For electronic or bank payments, please allow 3 to 5 business days for your bank to process your payment to the Town.

If you do not receive your Tax Bill, please call the Town office at 705-549-7453.  Failure to receive a Tax Bill does not relieve the taxpayer from the responsibility for payment of taxes and any accrued penalties or interest.
