The Town of Penetanguishene Public Works Department would like to advise the riders of the Midland Penetanguishene Transit, that on October 23, 2019. Council approved a series of transit fare increases.

The first, which has taken effect on October 23, 2019, is an increase to the electronic fare cards (i.e. Smart Cards) from $3.00/card to $3.25/card.

The Transit fare increases are as follows, effective January 1, 2020:

Senior/Student Cash Fare

$1.75

A reminder that New cards are now available that have a unique 14-digit card number which allows for more security for the user. In the event a card is lost or stolen, the card number can be used to look up the user's account in our system, and it can then be blocked/cancelled so that the user's pre-paid funds are not being used. Those funds can then be transferred to a new card.

If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact the undersigned.

Regards,

Bryan Murray, P.Eng

Director of Public Works
