Town of Penetanguishene congratulates Lorraine Moreau on receiving the 2024 Senior of the Year Award

Penetanguishene, ON - The Town of Penetanguishene is thrilled to announce Lorraine Moreau as the recipient of the 2024 Senior of the Year Award. This prestigious award is presented annually to a senior who has exemplified outstanding dedication and service to their community.

Lorraine Moreau is a remarkable volunteer in our town, known for her contributions to organizations such as the Georgian Bay Cancer Support Centre, Hospice Huronia, and the Penetanguishene Museum & Archives. Lorraine is always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need, whether they are friends, family, or strangers. Her kindness and generosity know no bounds.

One shining example of Lorraine's selflessness was her immediate support at a fundraiser for those affected by the collapse of buildings on Main Street last fall. She was one of the first volunteers on the scene, offering her assistance for the entire duration of the event. Her warmth, compassion, and willingness to go above and beyond truly set her apart.

The award was presented to Lorraine at the Seniors Information Day event on Thursday, June 6, with further recognition from members of Council at the June 12, 2024, Council Meeting.

The Town of Penetanguishene extends a heartfelt congratulations to Lorraine Moreau for this well-deserved honor. We invite all residents to join us in celebrating Lorraine's dedication and contributions to our community.
