Town Launches Connect Penetanguishene –An Interactive Site to Connect with Community Members

The Town of Penetanguishene has launched its new online community engagement site, Connect Penetanguishene, where community members are able to share their ideas and opinions on municipal projects.

Residents are encouraged to engage with the community from their home computer, tablet, or smartphone. The site offers registered participants a variety of ways to connect with the Town and other registered members through project discussion forums, spaces to post ideas and surveys.

The creation of Connect Penetanguishene is part of the Town’s 2019 – 2023 Strategic Plan. “The launch of the new site aligns with our municipal strategic initiative of providing additional ways for residents to offer constructive input, while also allowing us to foster community partnerships to provide education about municipal affairs and projects” says Mayor Doug Leroux.

The platform kicks off featuring project pages for the Arena and Recreation Study, COVID-19, Photo Contests and more. New information and engagement tools can be added to each project as they progress, and new consultation projects will be added over time.

“Connect Penetanguishene is another way for the Town to connect with our residents in addition to public meetings, information sessions and the Town website” says Jeff Lees, Chief Administrative Officer. “We value the input we receive from residents, which ultimately helps shape our community and future decisions for the Town.  With the launch of the new site we hope to increase our level of inclusivity with respect to Town projects and initiatives.”
