Temporary Fire Hose Connection During Peel Street Reconstruction
As part of the ongoing Peel Street reconstruction project, temporary measures have been implemented to ensure the building's fire suppression system remains fully operational during construction activities. This includes the installation of a temporary water supply connection between the fire hydrant at 72 Main Street and 63 Main Street.
As a result, the public will notice temporary hoses running between the hydrant and the building. This is a planned precautionary measure, and there is no concern for public safety.
To accommodate the temporary installation, the Main Street entrance to the parking lot at 63 Main Street will be closed for the weekend. Access to the property and parking area will remain available through the rear entrance off Peel Street.
The Main Street entrance is anticipated to reopen by Monday afternoon.
The Town appreciates the patience and cooperation of residents, businesses, and visitors while work associated with the Peel Street reconstruction project continues.
