Seasonal Load Restriction: March 9, 2026 - April 30, 2026
Update April 20, 2026: Please be advised that due to favourable conditions, the Seasonal Load Restriction period has been altered to end April 27, 2026.
The Town of Penetanguishene advises that the start of the Seasonal Load Restriction period will be delayed to Monday, March 9, 2026, and will remain in effect until April 30, 2026.
In accordance with By-law 2012-23, as amended, all applicable roads will be restricted to load limits of 5 tonnes per axle for the duration of this period. These restrictions are necessary to protect municipal roadways during the spring thaw and may be adjusted based on road and weather conditions. Signs will be posted accordingly to indicate when and where restrictions apply.
