Recreation and Events Staff are now accessible at the Arena!
The Town of Penetanguishene is pleased to announce the relocation of the Events Coordinator and Recreation Supervisor from the Townhall office to the Penetanguishene Memorial Community Centre. This move is effective Monday, May 13, 2024.
The decision to relocate these key roles is part of our ongoing commitment to enhance accessibility and service delivery to our residents. Being situated at the Community Centre will allow the two staff members to be more accessible to residents for questions during programs and will enable them to host a wider range of program offerings.
“We believe this move will greatly benefit our community,” said Sherry Desjardins Director of Recreation and Community Services. “These key staff members will now be in the heart of the action, able to directly engage with residents and respond to their needs more effectively.”
Townhall will continue to house the Recreation and Community Services Administration staff. These staff members remain available to assist with department related questions that residents may have when visiting Townhall. In-person recreation program registration continues to be available during Townhall operating hours, Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

This relocation is a reflection of our ‘residents first’ approach. We are confident that by making our Recreation and Events Staff more accessible at the Arena, we are not only enhancing our service delivery but also strengthening our connection with the community. Our goal is to ensure that every resident feels heard, valued, and served to the best of our abilities” says Jeff Lees, CAO.
Residents are encouraged to visit the Penetanguishene Memorial Community Centre to meet with the Events Coordinator and Recreation Supervisor and learn more about the exciting programs and events that are being offered.
