Public Boat Launches open in Midland, Penetanguishene, Tay and Tiny

May 21, 2020 – With the start of stage 1 of the framework for reopening the province, the Town of Midland, Town of Penetanguishene, Township of Tay and Township of Tiny are all re-opening their boat launches for public use.  Midland and Tay’s boat launches are open now.  Penetanguishene and Tiny’s boat launches will open the afternoon of Friday, May 22.

Municipal staff will not be available to assist with the launching of watercraft.  All launching must be completed by the crew of the watercraft.      

Boat launch washroom facilities, where present, are in the process of being prepared and are not yet open.  For the current status of municipal boat launches, washrooms and other facilities visit your local municipality’s website, linked to below.  The current status of boat launch amenities is listed below.

Residents and other boat launch users are reminded to adhere to physical distancing guidelines to ensure the health and safety of all boat launch users and to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.  Boat launch users are also reminded to observe and adhere to all parking regulations around boat launches.

The Town of Midland, Town of Penetanguishene, Township of Tay and Township of Tiny continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and are providing updates via their websites.
