Penetanguishene recognizes three individuals for the 2020, 2021 and 2022 Outstanding Service Recognition Program

Yesterday evening, the Town of Penetanguishene recognized recipients of the 2020, 2021 and 2022 Outstanding Service Recognition Program.

This event was an opportunity to applaud the commitment, dedication and contributions of co-workers and team members who make the Town of Penetanguishene a great place to work.

Current and prior employees were provided the opportunity to nominate others who have achieved excellence in the demonstration of our corporate values; Exceptional Service, Heroism, Length of service excellence, Team building/teamwork and mentoring.

The 2020 award was presented to the family members of the late Ted Light, former Fire Chief who served our community with professionalism and pride for 41 years.

The 2021 award was presented to Mark Charlebois, our current Chief Operator of the Wastewater Division. Mark has been a member of our staff for almost 30 years and is an honourable asset to our current Penetanguishene Team.

The 2022 award was presented to the late Ron Marchand, one of our Fire Captains, serving over 30 years who was still an active and dedicated team member of the Fire Department until his death in late 2021.

“Each of these employees, past and present have had a significant impact on shaping our community as we see it today. I am honoured to present their names on the Wall of Excellence to recognize their dedication to our community and thank each of their families for attending to celebrate with us” says, Chief Administrative Officer, Jeff Lees.

The Wall of Service Excellence is located in the Yvon Gagné courtyard, next to Town Hall.
