Main Street Reconstruction Project Update - May 4, 2018

Ongoing reconstruction of Main Street

It has been another busy week with the Main Street Reconstruction Project as the Contractor continues to make progress despite the wet weather. JB Enterprises Ltd. has completed the following work for the week ending May 4, 2018:

• The sanitary sewer main has been installed on Main Street from the Sewage Treatment Plant Lane and connected to the existing sewer on Beck Boulevard.
• The temporary water main has been commissioned with businesses and residences connected and the existing underground water main has been shut down from Wolfe Street to Water Street.
• The existing concrete road base has been removed on Main Street between the Sewage Treatment Plant Lane and Beck Boulevard.
• The existing fire hydrants have been removed on Main Street between Tessier Lane and Beck Boulevard by Town forces;
• The sanitary sewer bypass has been moved south to Tessier Lane.

The following items are scheduled to be completed for the week of May 7th to May 11th, 2018:

• Begin water main installation at the Sewage Treatment Plant Lane to the Main Street then north to Beck Boulevard including private services.
• Begin installation of sanitary services on the Main Street starting from Wolfe Street and heading south.
• Complete removal of the existing sanitary sewer on Beck Boulevard.
• Continue to install the sanitary sewer south to Tessier Lane.
• Start storm sewer installation from Tessier Lane to Brock Street.

The installation of additional signage at the traffic detour locations will be completed by the contractor to help identify alternate on-street parking available on adjacent side streets.

During this time the vehicular traffic travelling on the Main Street will be detoured around the work area in accordance with the approved traffic control plan.
