____________

The Town of Penetanguishene Water Division would like to advise residents that due to an adverse distribution system drinking water sample collected on Tuesday, August 13th, 2019 at the Lepage Subdivision in Penetanguishene, residents of the Lepage Subdivision are being advised to boil their water. This is a precautionary measure while the Town of Penetanguishene collects additional samples and completes the necessary bacteriological testing.

The Town of Penetanguishene has been issued a boil water advisory for the Lepage Subdivision by the local Medical Officer of Health for the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit. The advisory remains in effect until further notice. It will be lifted once the safety of the water has been confirmed by laboratory tests.

The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit is responsible for issuing water advisories and as such the Town of Penetanguishene is working cooperatively with them throughout this process.

Residents should use an alternate water supply or boil their water at a rolling boil for a least one minute before drinking, gargling, brushing teeth or rinsing their mouth; making baby food or formula; washing dishes; washing fruits, vegetable and other food; or making any meals, drink or ice.
