Flags Lowered Honouring the Deputy Mayor of Tay Township, Jim Crawford

The flags at Penetanguishene’s facilities have been lowered in honour of the Deputy Mayor of Tay Township, Jim Crawford.  “Our thoughts are with his family at this time.  It was evident that Jim had a passion for his community and I always enjoyed time spent with him whether it was at local events, meetings or recently, at the County. We are certainly thinking of Tay Township Council, staff and their residents over this difficult time.” said Mayor Doug Leroux.

The Deputy Mayor was re-elected for his second term of Council this past October.  After retiring from Tay Hydro Electric Distribution as the President and Vice-President after twenty years he felt the need to give back to his community by serving on Council.  He made it his mission to fight for the best interest of the residents and only wanted the best for his Township.  His efforts were obviously apparent when he was re-elected as the Deputy Mayor in October.  The North Simcoe community will certainly feel this loss.
