Enhanced Community Safety Measures: Sharps Containers Installed

The Town of Penetanguishene is pleased to announce the installation of sharps containers in various municipal facilities to enhance community safety. These containers are designed for the safe disposal of needles, syringes, and other sharp medical instruments.

Why Sharps Containers?

Proper disposal of sharps is crucial to prevent needle-stick injuries and protect everyone in our community. By providing these containers, we are taking a proactive step to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all.

Locations:

You can find these containers strategically placed in public washrooms across our town, including:

  • Penetanguishene Arena
  • Tourist Information Centre
  • Library
  • Rotary Park
  • McGuire Park
  • Huronia Park

Reporting Damaged Sharps Containers:

If you encounter a damaged or overflowing sharps container, please follow these steps:

Safety First: Do not touch or attempt to fix the container yourself. Your safety is our priority.

Note Details: Take note of the location (facility name and washroom) and any visible issues with the container (e.g., broken lid, overflowing).

Contact the Town: Report the issue to the Town of Penetanguishene at 705-549-7453.

By working together, we can maintain a safe and healthy community. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.
