Phase 1

The County of Simcoe has awarded the contract to Seeley and Arnill Construction for the construction of the County Road 93 (CR 93) Multi-Use Trail Phase 1.

The work includes the construction of a trail within the CR 93 right-of-way from Thompsons Road to approximately 300 metres north of Vindin Street, retaining wall installation and a box culvert replacement. Seeley and Arnill Construction plans to mobilize on August 12, 2019. The construction is anticipated to be completed by December 15, 2019,

Lane Restrictions

Traffic speed will be reduced to 60 km/h through the work zone during construction. Bypass lanes will be utilized where the box culvert replacement is taking place. A minimum of two paved lanes (one each way) will remain open at all times. Advanced warning signs will be installed on CR 93 to warnmotorists of the traffic disruptions.

Pre-Condition Survey and Well Sampling

Peto MacCallum Ltd. has been retained to carry out pre-condition assessments of homes in close proximity to the construction activities. In addition, they will be completing a well condition survey, sampling and monitoring of the water wells within the construction limits. Please be advised that the pre-condition survey work and well inspection work is scheduled start on August 7, 2019.

We ask for your cooperation as this work is intended to ensure that there are no direct impacts to the homeowner’s property.

How will I get to My Home/Business?

The Contractor will maintain access to your home/business. On several occasions, however, direct access to CR 93 may be interrupted due to large equipment entering and exiting the site. Access will be restored as quickly as possible after the work is completed and the equipment has been removed. The contractor will give prior notice of any access restrictions to the residents.

Pedestrian access to homes and businesses will be maintained during construction. If you have any special needs for wheelchair access please advise the R.J. Burnside & Associates Limited Construction Inspector (Alex Potter).

Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.

Will My Services Be Affected?

Telephone, Electrical, Cable TV and Gas services should not be affected by the construction, barring any unforeseen circumstances.

Safety

Road reconstruction involves the use of heavy equipment and the unavoidable creation of obstacles. These circumstances are attractive to children, and we ask that you caution your children to stay clear of the working area. We ask that you take extra caution during the construction period to ensure everyone’s safety.
