In light of the ever evolving situation with respect to COVID-19, the Town of Penetanguishene has extended Friday’s payment deadline (April 3) for wharf slip rentals. A new payment due date will be communicated to boaters who have left a deposit to secure their slip for this upcoming season however have an outstanding balance.
This notice has been issued by the Town of Penetanguishene Public Works Department Road Division to inform you that Fox Street shall be closed from Burke Street to Wolfe Street, on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 between the hours of 7:30 am until the project is completed.

On March 17, 2020 the Government of Ontario declared a State of Emergency which has prompted some members of the public to contact the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Simcoe Muskoka Health Unit (SMDHU) and area municipal offices to request individuals and businesses/institutions be investigated for non-compliance under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act (EMCPA).
Midhurst/March 30, 2020 – Municipal and health partners in Simcoe and Muskoka, including the County of Simcoe, the District of Muskoka, and the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit, are working together to launch a donation campaign for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and critical supplies that are essential for the provision of safe medical and community care to patients and residents in our region.
The Town of Penetanguishene Planning and Community Development Department would like to advise the residents and businesses that Main Street may have temporary lane restrictions due to the removal of the winter decorations along Main Street from Thompsons Road to Water/Simcoe Street by Walker's Electric.
