Notice of Construction: County Road 93 Phase 2 Winter Shutdown

County Road 93 Phase 2: The County of Simcoe has retained Dufferin Construction Company to complete Phase 2 of the Multi Use Trail. Phase 2 of the Multi Use Trail includes the construction of a concrete trail and sidewalks within the CR 93 right-of-way from Yonge Street to approximately 80 metres north of Lanigan Drive including traffic signal upgrades at each intersection.

Due to unforeseen delays with the traffic signal upgrades, construction on County Road 93 Phase 2 will be postponed until spring in 2021. Dufferin Construction Company plan to proceed with construction on April 1, 2021. The construction is anticipated to be completed by May 31, 2021.

All lanes of CR 93 will remain open and entrances to the businesses will be unaffected by construction during the winter shutdown period. The sidewalks and intersection crossings have been reestablished; however, some portions of the new sidewalks will remain closed during the winter shutdown period. The contractor will provide signage to advise pedestrians of which sidewalks will remain closed.

Snowplowing and maintenance of the County Road 93 roadway will be by Simcoe County.

Snowplowing and maintenance of open sidewalks and side streets will be by the Town of Midland.

Snowplowing of private driveways and entrances will remain the business owner’s responsibility.

Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.
