County of Simcoe - Waste Collection Interruption, February 12, 2019

The County of Simcoe has informed us that snow and high winds are causing whiteouts and poor road conditions across today's waste collection area. Crews are out collecting, going slowly for safety. Bins and waste materials are also being impacted by the wind, further reducing productivity.

In order to maximize the amount of material that can be collected before conditions worsen, some trucks have been redirected into more urbanized areas. As a result, we currently anticipate that some of the rural areas of Tay Township will not have garbage/organics collection completed. The normal practice is to collect double on the next scheduled collection day, Tuesday February 19th. Further updates to follow at the County of Simcoe website.
