Canada Post Strike: Mail Service Disruptions

Due to the Canadian Union of Postal Workers strike, beginning on November 15, 2024, the Town of Penetanguishene is unable to mail utility bills, notices, and newsletters to residents.  Here are some things you need to know:

Individuals who have recently purchased property in Penetanguishene are encouraged to contact the Finance Department to ensure that you receive your bills.

The Town offers a variety of payment methods for property tax and utility bill payments, such as:

  • Pre-authorized payment plans
  • Online banking or telephone banking
  • At financial institutions
  • In-person at Town Hall (cash, cheque, or debit payments accepted)
  • After Hours Drop Box at Town Hall (Cheques, payable to the Town of Penetanguishene accepted)

For payment of town-issued invoices and various other town services, payment options include:

  • In-person or After Hours Drop Box at Town Hall
  • By credit card (Visa or Mastercard accepted) – Please call Town Hall at 705-549-7453 to provide credit card details

The Town is unable to make exceptions for late payments sent by mail.

Penetanguishene Centennial Museum membership renewals will be delivered by email during the mail disruption.  We encourage members to provide their email by contacting the Museum at 705-549-2150 to ensure you receive your membership renewal.
