November 20, 2020 – In consultation with the Chief Medical Officer of Health, local medical officers of health, and other health experts, the province is moving certain public health unit regions to new levels in the Keeping Ontario Safe and Open Framework.
This notice has been issued by the Town of Penetanguishene Public Works Department, in accordance with the Implementation of Traffic/Parking By-law Amendments Policy, to inform residents and businesses that the following changes to Section 30. 2-Parking Prohibited in Certain Places on a Highway, Section 44-Municipal Parking Lots within the Traffic and Parking By-laware being proposed by Town staff:
The Town of Penetanguishene continues to monitor news and updates concerning COVID-19 in order to ensure we work to keep our community members safe. The following update provided on November 20th is in addition to the updates provided in previous weeks here.
November 18, 2020 – Mid-Pen Transit riders can now reload their transit SmartCards from the comfort of their homes or on their mobile devices when they’re on the go using the new Mid-Pen Transit Service Online Portal.
Town of Penetanguishene Committee of Adjustment will hold an electronic public meeting on Monday, November 30th, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. to consider the following application: provisional Consent to Sever application B11/2020 related to the land composed of Lot 8, Registered Plan 51M-441, municipally known as 212 Gilwood Park Drive (See Location Map attached).
On October 28, 2020, Ontario announced the COVID-19 Resilience Infrastructure Stream (“COVID stream”) under the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program (ICIP) in Ontario to build or renovate health and safety related projects in long-term care, education and municipalities.
(Penetanguishene) – On October 14, 2020, Council passed a resolution in support of the Protestant Separate School Board in their appeal to the Province of Ontario and Ministry of Education. This resolution was followed by a letter addressed to the MPP Simcoe North Jill Dunlop and the Ministry of Education which outlined the Towns support.
