Events & Exhibits

The Town of Penetanguishene offers a few different options when it comes to beaches for enjoying the warm weather. Rotary Champlain Wendat Park and Huronia Park all offer sandy beaches, great swimming areas along with other amenities including playgrounds, pavilions, washrooms and much more. Accessible by foot or by car these beaches are a great way to spend a sunny afternoon.

Rotary Champlain Wendat Walking Tour

$7 per adult
  • June 6, 20, July 4, 18, August 1, 15, 29, September 12, 26, October 10, 24
  • Time: 10:30 AM to 12:00PM
  • Take a walk in the park with an experienced guide and learn about the Indigenous and Franco-Ontarian history in our area.
  • Children under 12 years of age FREE
  • Registration is required

Museum Tots Program

  • September 13th to November 8th
  • Time: 10:30 AM to 11:30 Am
  • Parents and Tots come on adventure with us during our Museum Tots program as we experience our senses through play, crafts, and activities this Fall! Running Wednesdays for nine weeks, starting September 13th, 10:30-11:30am, for ages 2-4 years old. Pre-registration is required. Last day November 8th. 1 Day Registration style. Max 8 participants. $5.00 per child, per session.

Metis 101 Cultural Awareness

  • Date: Wednesday, September 20, 2023
  • Time: 7PM
  • A presentation by Greg Garratt, President of the Georgian Bay Metis Council, on the Metis Culture.
  • Light refreshments will be served.

  • This free presentation is part of the Indigenous Art & Culture Awareness Week.

Halloween Spooktacular

  • Date: Saturday, October 28, 2023
  • Time: 10AM to 12PM
  • Halloween fun at the Museum including scavenger hunt, trick or treating, crafts, face painting & more!
  • Registration is required.

Fun with Santa

  • Date: Saturday, December 16, 2023
  • Time: 9:30AM to 12:30PM
  • Visit with Mr. & Mrs. Claus, scavenger hunt, cookie decorating, crafts & more!

Meet the Spirits of St. James on the Lines Cemetery

$10 per person
  • Date: Friday, October 13, 2023
  • Time: 7PM or 8PM
  • Tour the St. James on the Lines Cemetery to encounter the many spirits of Penetanguishene and discover the significant history of the church!
  • Pre-registration is required.
