Town of Penetanguishene offers Municipal Services by appointment only, effective January 4, 2021

December 23, 2020 – With the provinces decision to move all areas into the Grey-Lockdown level of the COVID-19 Response Framework for the 28 day period, the Town of Penetanguishene Municipal Offices will be offering appointment only services and closed to public effective January 4, 2021 at 8:30a.m. As a reminder, the Municipal Office will be closed for the holidays, December 24, 2020 at 12 noon to January 4, 2021. For any urgent emergencies regarding Roads or Water services please call the after-hour line: 705-527-8210.

Flashing Traffic Lights at the Intersection of Robert Street and Main Street

The Town of Penetanguishene Public Works Department would like to remind residents during slippery road conditions, the Town of Penetanguishene may activate flashing traffic lights on the corner of Main Street and Robert Street. Both drivers and pedestrians must obey the traffic signals that control an intersection.

Placement of Garbage/Recycling Containers During Winter Months

This notice is a reminder to residents and business owners of the Town of Penetanguishene, that during the winter season, the main objective of the Snow Clearing and Removal Operations is to clear the snow quickly from the streets. This critical service can be significantly hampered by the placement of garbage and recycling containers within the roadway or along the edge of the road.

Volunteer Call Out: Town Dock Secondary Plan, Technical Advisory Committee

In late 2019, the Town was successful in obtaining $40,000 through the County of Simcoe’s Economic Development Program to complete a Town Dock Secondary Plan in 2020. An extension to the required completion date for the Town Dock Study was granted to June 2021 by the Council of the County of Simcoe as a result of the pandemic.

Rotary Champlain Wendat Park Multi-Use Trail

The Town of Penetanguishene would like to announce to residents that the Georgian Bay Snowriders will be grooming the portion of the Trans Canada Trail through Rotary Champlain Wendat Park for multipurpose use throughout the winter months.
