APPENDIX 2 SPECIFICATIONS
The Town of Penetanguishene requires the services of a consulting Civil Engineering firm to complete the road and servicing designs for the Chatham Street Reconstruction project between Brock Street and Beck Boulevard.
The Town of Penetanguishene also requires the services of a consulting Civil Engineering firm to complete a site plan and site grading plan for the installation of a new salt storage dome at the Roads Division yard at 24 Centennial Drive. The proposed salt storage dome will be a Britespan or equivalent building structure and will also require a foundation design and associated drawings from the selected consultant.
Chatham Street is approximately 620 m in length and will require the removal and replacement of the existing watermain, sanitary sewer and storm sewer. The road section will also be upgraded to reflect a full urban standard in accordance with the Town of Penetanguishene Land Development Engineering Standards and the Community Design Manual.
Trenchless technologies will be explored by the municipality and the selected consultant for use on the Chatham Street Reconstruction project if it is determined to be a suitable alternative to traditional open cut installation methods.
The design drawings and tender documentation provided by the selected consultant will provide the basis for the future reconstruction of Chatham Street and will provide the location and site works required for the installation of a new salt storage dome at 24 Centennial Drive.
Both projects will be completed in accordance with the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (EA) Schedule A/A+ process.
A map showing the project locations is provided at the back of this document.
